Women Who Run With Wolves


The first book that we will explore incorperates folklore, fairy tales and dream symbols.  Ancient stories are called on to assist women in reconnecting with intuitive and instinctive abilities. the Author Clarissa Pinkola Estes, is an analyst of Carl Jung and uses he knowledge as psycholoanysis to provide a reviting reflection on archytypes of feminity. According to Estes, wolves and women share a common psychic bond in their strength, grace and, devotion to their mate and community. This association defines the archetype of the Wild Woman.  She is defined as a female in touch with her primitive side and able to rely on gut feelings to make choices. The tales shared in the text come form various cultures and are not necessarily about wolves.  They embody ancient yet fresh perspectives on relationships, self-image and, fears.  Through commentary, Estes urges readers to draw upon and enjoy the Wild Woman within.  Join us in reading and discussing this wonderful text and all of the self reflection that arises as a the result of reading it.
